Why Animas
I chose Animas because of the veterinary science class which other schools didn’t have. I originally went to DHS where I didn’t fit in very well, and wasn’t able to make any friends. I also had some bad experiences that made just being near the school make me feel sick. I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder so trying to fit in there and making friends and connections was very hard for me. I tried to skip classes or did everything I could to stay home so I wouldn’t have to be there. My mental health eventually got so bad that I switched to online because I was failing a lot of my classes and didn’t want to have anything to do with the school. After I switched to online I got lonely very quickly. On top of that the school had me doing 34 different classes in one year and I was unable to handle it. Once I finished Sophomore year I decided to look for a school that I could fit in to and make friends in but I also had to keep in mind my future. I originally chose this school because it had a small population of students and I already knew some people going there but that wasn’t a good excuse to go to this school. My mom wants me to be a Veterinarian because I have wanted to be one since I was little. The only reason I was able to go to this school was because of the Vet Science class. At AHS I am hoping to keep perfect grades and get the credits I need to go to college. I am also looking to make friends and have a good time but that’s not important because I need to focus on my future. I am looking forward to graduating with all A’s and B’s so I can go to a good college to get my veterinary degree. After I graduate I am going to UCDenver to get my prerequisites and later UCDavis to get my degree in Veterinary Medicine. To me education is an opportunity to learn more about the world and life, and to get the information and knowledge to be able to have a certain career.
